Alright. Starting today officially. Video Throwdown will be giving away a free WebCam to the first person to create a Video Throwdown topic that has 10 legitimate, unique videos entered! That’s right, no strings attached, no money on your part, no need to opt in to any offers or anything. Just create a topic interesting enough to attract 10 people into the Video Throwdown ring…You can even call your ten friends and have them make videos and upload them or advertise on your blog or whatever. Just get ten unique, topically-relevant videos entered into your Video Throwdown ring, before anyone else gets 10 videos entered in their Video Throwdown Ring and you win!

I love it when it’s simple. =)

So you wanna Throwdown?!

So you think you’re ready to get into the ring? Alright. Here’s some tips to get you started.

First, You must have signed up to be able to start a new Throwdown Ring or to enter your video into the Throwdown ring. That’s easy enough to do. Just click on the large upper-right button “Sign In” and then click register. If you haven’t signed in or registered yet and you click on “Wanna Start Something?” Or “Add A Video” you’ll be taken to the same sign in/register screen.

Once you’re on the register page fill in as much information as you’d like. At the very least you must fill in your username, password and email. Although the more you fill in, the more will be filled out on your Business Card. But don’t worry you can always add more or change your business card info later.

Great! Now you’re registered and signed in! If you want to start your own Video Throwdown Ring click on the button to the left “Wanna Start Something?”. This will take you to a page where you can fill out all the information necessary to start your Throwdown.

• The first characteristic you’re going to want to specify is category. On the category bar at the top, pick where you think your topic lies on the crazy-to-serious scale of 1 to 9.
• Next, Is your new topic pro/con or open-ended. If your topic is pro/con, (“Religion should be taught in schools”) people entering your VT ring will get to make videos for one side of the topic or the other and when they enter their videos they’ll have to specify if their video is Pro or Con the topic they are entering. Pro videos will always show up in the Red Corner and Con videos will always show up in the Blue Corner. This way Pro videos always come up against Con videos. If your topic is open-ended, (“Best Scary Make-up Job”), then when videos are entered they can show up in either corner when they come into the Video Throwdown Ring.
• Name your Topic. If you’re starting a topic to be debated, like a Pro/Con topic. Make sure your topic is a sentence that people can choose to agree with and submit a pro video or disagree with and submit a con video.
• Set a time limit. You don’t want to pin 2 minute videos against 7 minute videos and you don’t want people entering videos that are excessively long either.
• Any special rules? Like “Argue this topic from the point of view of the UK” or “No editing the video, just a straight record”
• Finally, decide if you want to be the first to bring a video into the Throwdown ring you are creating. If not, uncheck the box that reads “Upload Video”
• That’s It! Click Add at the bottom!

A Message will Appear below the add button letting you know your topic was added successfully! You can also “Tell A friend” about the new throwdown you created. Or click on the Video Throwdown icon in the top left corner and go back to the home page!

REMEMBER!! You’re topic will show up in the list to the left of the page under the category you specified. BUT your topic won’t show up in the Video Throwdown Main Ring until at least two videos are loaded into the topic. =) There’s no point in fighting by yourself…that’s just sad.

If you’re here just to explore and watch videos and vote for your favorite then when you first load up the site you are ready to go. If you’re interested in more crazy-fun videos, click on the number 1 on the category bar at the top of the page and check out the topic list on the left of the page or watch the random videos picked in the random topic that shows up first. One great topic is in category 1 is “Wow!” a place that’s open for any kind of crazy video. Our two first videos in this topic show a man stinging himself with a bee and the world’s most talented kitty using a toilet!

If you’re looking for some videos that are more serious, click on any of the other numbers from 1 to 9 depending on what you feel like watching on a scale of crazy to serious! Magicians and Musicians have started staking their claim in category 5. Check out some of these magic trick videos in category 5.

But let’s get serious now. Watch as people debate all the most controversial topics out today. Debate politics, life, social issues and religion. Wouldn’t it be nice to finally settle your arguments by putting them into the Video Throwdown Ring and letting visitors pick who did a better job of proving their side?
